Renee Brooks received her BA degree from California State University Fullerton, in Communications. Upon graduation. After working for more than a decade in entertainment, Renee began to feel the need to give back to the community in a deeper way. It was her desire to help others coupled with her love of higher education that led her to the graduate- program at Pacifica Graduate Institute, where she has completed her Masters in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis on Depth perspective. Renee has honed her skills working for Ventura County Behavioral Health in the Youth and Families Services division as well as simultaneously running her own private practice.
Renee believes that therapy is the collaborative relationship between therapist and client that allows each client to explore not only their symptoms but understand one’s self, while obtaining valuable tools to deal with emotions, conflict, and interpersonal communication.
Renee was drawn to this profession after her own experience with therapy. She believes that there is an overwhelming need for most individuals to experience emotional healing, understanding and compassion. Renee has developed her skills working with adults and children dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and life transitions.
