Biography

Rebecca Schack is a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist under the supervision of Susan Richter, LMFT, SEP, CEDS. She received her MA in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute with an emphasis in Depth Psychology and is completing a somatic certification from Seattle School of Body Psychotherapy. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist Rebecca was a certified Yoga instructor and dance teacher that understood the mental and physical benefits of movement. Rebecca is passionate about healing from a holistic and integrative framework that incorporates all aspects of mental health and physical well-being. In her practice she brings body-oriented techniques and concepts to meet physical, emotional, mental, and behavioral blocks in order to manifest meaningful changes in life.

Rebecca’s clinical experience includes work with an inpatient program at The Salvation Army where she facilitated group therapy, specialized in treating substance use disorders, and supported clients in life transitions. Her experience at Community Counseling Education Center in Santa Barbara was shaped by working with clients facing challenges of grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, co-dependence, relational issues, systematic oppression, micro-aggressions, race, and substance use disorders. Her clinical orientation is eclectic and informed by many modalities from her education and somatic training. She utilizes a blend of ancient practices and contemporary approaches to inform and aide in treatment ranging from character analysis, core energetics, attachment theory, neurobiology, energy tracking, breathwork, gestalt techniques, internal family systems, inner child work, heart perception, mindfulness techniques, to resourcing, regulating, and grounding clients through the central nervous system.

No matter the challenge or issue that brings you to seek therapy Rebecca is intrigued by the beautiful complexities of each individual person. She is curious by nature and has a supportive presence. Her therapeutic philosophy stems from the knowledge that “one size does not fit all.” Her goal as your therapist is to be with you on your journey as a collaborative force ~ to face your challenges with you while helping you grow a greater capacity to hold and embody all that you are!
