Hi there, I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist under the supervision of Angela Rukule, LMFT, license no. 23092, and Alexis Forrey, LMFT, lic. no. 113859. I received my BA in Communications from the California State University, Fullerton, and MA from Pepperdine University with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Prior to joining The New Beginnings Center, I worked with trauma survivors at the Coalition for Family Harmony in Oxnard, and Casa Serena Treatment Programs for Women in Santa Barbara. I have had the pleasure of working therapeutically with individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds, the LGBTQ+ population, and clients recovering from substance use disorder. Additionally, as a “fire wife,” I understand the unique set of challenges faced by first responders, their partners, and their families, and I value being able to provide support to those who are called upon to serve our communities.
I believe that in order for an individual to truly make progress in therapy, they must have a safe and comfortable space to do so, and finding a therapist who is a good match is as important as any specific intervention used in session. I offer a comfortable environment and a non-judgmental listening ear, and I believe the journey of therapy is to be done as a team. As a therapist, it is my main goal to support and encourage my clients as well as ask thought-provoking and insightful questions. I would love to support you on your journey; I know it is not easy alone.
