About Us

The New Beginnings Center has provided mental health care since 1982, with a long history of somatic approaches to treatment with a collaborative team of talented clinicians. New Beginnings was founded and has always been owned and operated by licensed mental health care professionals, understanding our clients’ needs as the best guide to treatment. The center offers a wide array of services to help our clients on their path to recovery from anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, body image issues, eating disorders, chronic pain, and beyond. In a supportive environment, our clients build tools and resources to promote deep and lasting healing.

Services Provided

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a collaboration between the therapist and client with the goal of facilitating change and improving overall quality of life. Individual therapy provides an opportunity to safely explore challenges and barriers that are interfering with daily life or your ability to function. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem or some other struggles, our therapists will work with and support your growth, healing, and self-determination.

Couples Therapy

Relationships can be challenging. Couples therapy is useful whether you are trying to resolve a current problem, learning new skills to prevent an exacerbation of old problems, or working through transitions or stressors in life. Our skilled therapists will utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions to help couples gain insight into their relationship, resolve conflicts, and improve relationship satisfaction. In addition to gaining insight, couples can work on identifying and changing behaviors, as well as exploring more useful ways of interacting with one another.

Family Therapy

The purpose of family therapy is to help families work through challenges, issues, and life’s stressors together by identifying strengths and changing patterns of behavior that are no longer effective in order to improve relationships and functioning for all the members of the family unit. Studies have shown that family therapy is an important part of the treatment process for adults and adolescents who are struggling with eating disorders, substance abuse, and other emotional or behavioral issues. Our therapists strive to create a safe environment where all members of the family can feel heard and understood.

Group Therapy

How many times have you felt alone with your problems? Therapy groups provide a safe environment to process the challenges and opportunities of life. And it’s an effective way to enhance your individual psychotherapy.

Children and Adolescent Therapy

Growing and developing social skills, and emotional intelligence are important for leading happy and healthy lives. When children or adolescents experience challenging situations, emotional struggles, or changes in behaviors, they can interfere with their happiness, quality of life, and ability to thrive. Our therapists will create a safe and open environment and, using a variety of approaches will help your child or adolescent by offering emotional support, building communication and social skills, facilitating understand and expression of feelings, and trying out new solution to challenges.

Sliding Scale Fee

Lower cost services are available to you through The New Beginnings Center. Some licensed therapists of New Beginnings offer sliding scale rates, based on income, on a limited basis. Lower cost services are also available through our interns, whom are supervised by New Beginnings’ licensed therapists.
