Biography

Alison Shay Hochman is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist under the supervision of Angela M. Rukule, LMFT. Alison received their A.A. in Criminal Justice from Los Angeles Valley College, and a B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Northridge. They received their M.S. from California Lutheran University with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and a specialization in Trauma. Alison is passionate about bodywork in trauma recovery and received their Mindfulness Coaching Certification and Trauma Informed Yoga Certification through My Vinyasa Practice.

Alison has spent 7+ years working specifically with adolescents and parents/families in a variety of settings. They have led adolescent support groups primarily working with opportunity/at-risk youth: foster youth, domestic violence, self-harm behaviors, and the LGBTQ2+ population. Alison additionally has experience working with individuals who have experienced complex trauma, domestic violence, dissociation, gender dysphoria, depression, and codependency. Alison uses an integrative approach incorporating somatic techniques, DBT/mindfulness, and art therapy.
