Alison Shay Hochman (she/her) is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist Applicant under the supervision of Angela M. Rukule, LMFT. Alison received her A.A. in Criminal Justice from Los Angeles Valley College, and a B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Northridge. She received her M.A. from California Lutheran University with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and a specialization in Trauma. Alison is passionate about bodywork in trauma recovery and received her Mindfulness Coaching Certification and Trauma Informed Yoga Certification through My Vinyasa Practice.

Alison has spent 7+ years working specifically with adolescents and parents/families in a variety of settings. She has led adolescent support groups primarily working with opportunity/at-risk youth: foster youth, domestic violence, self-harm behaviors, and the LGBTQ+ population. Alison additionally has experience working with individuals who have experienced complex trauma, domestic violence, dissociation, gender dysphoria, depression, and codependency. Alison uses an integrative approach incorporating somatic techniques, DBT/mindfulness, and art therapy. She wholeheartedly believes that there is no “one size fits all” in healing and partners with each client to tailor therapy to meet their needs.
